You can submit your application online. The deadlines for submission of applications vary according to the intake and courses. We encourage all international applicants to submit their applications as soon as possible. This is especially important if you require a visa to travel and eventually stay in Malta.

You can compare your national qualifications to the local requirements by visiting our qualifications comparability webpage. Access more information about our admission process and English language requirements.

The University of Malta has student accommodation on campus called Campus Hub. Campus Hub is just a 2-minute walk from the main campus. For more information, visit the accommodation website.

Our dedicated team at the student recruitment office is here to support you every step of the way. From the moment you start your application to the moment when you receive your decision letter, we're here to assist you. If you have any questions or need further information, don't hesitate to reach out to us. You can contact us at info@um.edu.mt, and our team will be more than happy to help.

After you receive an offer from us, our International Office will assist you with visas, accommodation and other related issues.

The course will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed by radiographers to work in the health sector in two branches of radiography: diagnostic and therapy. As a graduate, you would be able to meet current and future needs of the workforce within hospitals and industry to support the development, introduction and implementation and evaluation of new technology, practice and advanced techniques in these fields. The course aims to prepare you for the position of a radiographer by integrating your learning effectively in practice by developing your necessary skills to perform the role and recognising the importance of knowledge and understanding to your current and future professional practice. Besides clinical practice in Malta, you are encouraged to participate in an ERASMUS+ to spend a period of clinical practice in radiography in an approved hospital abroad.

This programme of study is governed by the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2019 and by the Bye-Laws for the award of Bachelor of Science (Honours) - B.Sc. (Hons) - under the auspices of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Upon successfully completing this programme, you will become a competent, reflective and inquiring radiographer able to:

  • view the delivery of radiography in a holistic manner, working in partnership with the service user.
  • adopt a problem-solving approach to service users' needs.
  • use the theoretical frameworks of radiography to guide and inform your work.
  • analyse, select, adapt and use techniques and practices in order to diagnose and treat patients.
  • understand the principles of evaluation and research to ensure best practice.
  • adapt and respond to current and future patterns of service delivery.

Non EU Applicants:

Fee per academic year: Eur 10,800

You are viewing the fees for non EU nationals. Switch to EU nationals if you are a national of any country from within the EU/EEA.

As a modern radiographer, you will have a greatly expanded role and take on many studies. You will be making decisions such as which examination to perform or advising on procedures ֠all areas of healthcare where a real difference to both patients and practitioners can be made. Being in possession of a dual qualification with equal competencies and skills in the two branches, you would be able to increase your employability and be able to provide high quality practice while creating better opportunities for career development. Once registered as a radiographer, you could work in the public or private sector, go into research or become a lecturer and train others in the profession. You could also choose to work abroad or undertake additional training to specialise in an area of radiography.
